Finally got a story to share. So I've got quite a few positive responses since I got the car four months ago (mostly 
s, or "nice car"), and a couple of negative responses (someone threw a cup of coke at my car at a parking lot 
)
So anyway, here's a recent one, I parked in the parking lot of a diner in a Chicago suburb, right next to this couple who was just leaving. As I got out of the car, the dude starts asking:
Dude: What do you do?
Me: (a little confused) Excuse me?
Dude: Where do you work?
Me: Oh, downtown.
Dude: What do you do there? Sell stocks?
Me: No, I'm a computer programmer.
Dude tells his girlfriend/wife (who was already in the car): Computer programmer.
I guess the car looks more expensive than it really is.

i don't know if this was funny, but sure was cool.
guy: pulled into the gas station to wait his turn for pumping his gas....
me:i park next to gas station.
guy: get's out of his car really fast, with his car still on. to tell me my car is awesome and nice looking. gives the thumbs up!
me: said thanks.

i'm parked in front of a wine store in a shopping plaza talking to my friend. I also have the rick's s badges. anyways...
old guy comes and looks at the car and says...
"is that the new saturn"?

I was at the gas station getting gas today and the clerk comes out and tries to start talking to me about my car. At first I have no clue what he's trying to ask me, and then somewhere in there I catch the word "electric." I realized he was asking if the S2000 was an electric car...
I set him straight though

I have a colleague who has a Z4 that he bought last year. When I bought my 05 S2K, he immediately began speaking disparagingly about the S2K, his was faster, more reliable, etc. I didn't argue with him, because we all know what happens when you argue with an idiot.
However, I pulled up the specs for his Z4, and our S2K, then I showed him the Consumer Reports ratings for our car and his (CR crapped all over the Z4) and the C&D report that compared roadsters. (See the link below - Z4's were rated 4th, S2Ks, 1st).

It got pretty quiet in the office after he read the info, so I said, "Well, don't feel too badly, you did pay 15,000 more for your car, so you have that going for you!!". He hasn't brought the subject up again...I wonder why?

Nice, Ed! Set him straight.
I'm definitely NOT feeling the Saturn (above). IMO, it has a weird & heavy looking body design, and the interior is too busy, ie., NOT CLEAN. No competition for the S in the looks category.
