Pulled up to a store and got out to buy a newspaper. As I was getting out I met a man coming out of the store. "How are you doing?", I asked. He looked at my S2K and said, "Good, But not as well as you."

I just took my gf up to Lake Tahoe for a surprise vacation and got a lot of compliments and stares at my S.

One guy with his girl walked by and he said, "Did you rent that?" and I was happy to say, "Nope, it's mine." His girlfriend followed up with, "Wow. Did you have it custom ordered from the factory?" (I guess they haven't seen too many S2ks?) and I said, "Nah, I just went and bought it out of the dealer showroom."

Another guy driving a pretty tricked out WRX STi (with a sick Ti exhaust) gave props, which was cool, considering the WRX STi does real well performance-wise (but is an ugly duckling next to an S2k IMO).

p.s.-- high altitudes + flooring it = delayed VTEC engagement (> 6500 rpm?) and generally sluggish performance. guess the over-filled trunk and occupied passenger seat had something to do with it as well.

I went to a body shop to get an estimate on the repairs to some damage on my car and the first thing the guy asked me when he looked at the car is "what is it?"

Needless to say, they were not the shop I chose to work on my car.

Sitting at a car show with my buddy, chillin behind our cars on a hill......

One kid walks up and starts talkin sh!t, then hops on a bike and pedals away as fast as possible since I set of my panic as he began to lean into my car....

Then, another kid comes up, im standing right there, looks at me, looks at the dash, looks at me again, then the dash again.....

he turns to me and says

"This car only goes 9 miles an hour?!?!"

I couldnt help but laughuing, and just to play along I said

"Yeah, it took me forever to get here from my house"

Needless to say, he found out the truth as we were leaving the show!

Well, you know BMW's motto:

"You may find better, but you'll never pay more."

The Indy Colts do their summer camp at my college every summer. Last summer, I pulled up in my S to work out and some kids ran up and go, "Are you a Colts player?" (No, I don't pretend to be that huge, but they were little kids, so maybe I just looked big to them...)
"No"
"Oh, well that's still a cool car".

Then the other day a guy I know with a 90-something BMW 318 (4 banger, he says) goes, next week I'm putting an M3 engine in my car. Then I'll smoke you".
"What year M3?"
" Like a 95 or 96" *not sure what year he said, but it was older than the new generation
"No, then no you won't."

people say "smoked" too often.. even if he could edge me out, he couldn't "smoke" me. Maybe a new M3 could smoke me, but people seem to say smoke too often.

I let my father take my S up to the 7-11 to get a pack of ciggarettes, no i do not let him smoke in my S, but anyways, the attendant as he paid asked if he minded that he come outside and check out the car, he responded sure its my sons though, anyways, about 5 minutes into it another customer pulls in and as the customer begins to walk in he yells I'll be in in a minute... was funny the guy left his job (cash register) to come check out my car
