I came out of the grocery store yesterday to see a family trying to squeeze their little kids in the rear seat, almost hitting my S with their door. I said hey let me back out, I'll give you some room. Right as I started to back out:
wife "what kind of car is that?"
husband "Oh thats the S2000." (thought it was funny he didn't mention it was a Honda
)
wife "ah.. looks like a corvette."
A couple days before that I went into BK for lunch. After I placed my order, I saw the cashier looking through the window at my S. here is the ensuing conversation:
Cashier "Hey is that your car, the S2000?"
Me "Yup"
Cashier "wow, thats like myy dream car.. is it fast?"
Me "Yup, its pretty quick"
Cashier "It's got 6 gears right?" [makes shifting motion with LEFT hand]
Me "Yup"
Cashier "It's got a 2.2l?"
Me "No its the 2.0l, they started to put the 2.2l in for 2004"
Cashier "Oh, thats the prelude engine.. it still looks the same though [as the 2004s]"
Me "yeah.. basically the same car"

Had an interesting conversation in a parking lot this weekend. A couple young guys, 15-17 I would guess come up to look at the S and start talking to me. One of them appears to know everything about every car ever made when he tells me about his brothers 9 second 2000Z that will be his when he gets his license.
I didn't say anything but just walked away. I could here him telling his friends about the 500hp stock v-10 that comes in the 2000z as I walked away...
