Edmunds says it cost about $9,000 a year over the first 5 years to cover all the costs of a owning a new S2k. Of course their insurance figure was around $1k a year, which is probably lower than what you will see, but otherwise those TCO's are pretty accurate.

Not to put you on the spot but how do you expect to afford an Integra and S2k once you move out of your parent's house?

[QUOTE=s2kmaniac81,Oct 30 2005, 08:25 PM] Unfortunately, the s2000 is a high symbol car so you will of course pay a higher premium for it.

Texas

age 33 married

USAA insurance Full coverage 500 deductables

$380 every 6 months. had to edit because I was including my wifes car.

I just bought an 05' Z4 3.0 fully loaded and discounted to $45k which is 13k more than I paid for my S and it went down $80/ 6 months. The insurance guy on the phone told me replacement parts were hard to get from Japan and the likely hood of just totaling the car is higher on the S.

right..well im 18 and from west virginia...

sorry i cannot spell correctly, i dont care.

anyway...

the s2k im looking at has yoko. avs es100's on it..

im only driving the s2k when want to, say on weekends..

i will use my integra as the daily driver, or my dads explorer

tires will be no problem being that i would pay only about half on a full set...

i know its not a good idea for state minimums..i will see what the premium is with higher coverage...

i guess the truth will really come out tomarrow..i cant wait...im nervous..i cant believe insurance can stop someone from having a nice car...
Dude, it is going to be expensive. If your concerned about the price of insurance than you can not afford the car. Never strap yourself down on a car especially one that you really don't need since you already have a car. Getting the minimums is also not a good idea unless your just that wealthy and can afford to shell out the cash. Someone slashes your top you pay.

Like they all said, it could be anything, but it could also suprize you.

Im in Florida

21 years old

My rate on a 2002 sentra spec V with state farm is $894 every 6 months (1 small claim, 2 tickets ) for full coverage and a 500 deductable.

To insure an 02 s2000, it'd be 55 bucks more every 6 months. an 05 is only 78 bucks more every 6 months, so it may not be so bad.

The best way is to call your insurance company you're with now and just ask. They are normally more then happy to tell you whats up. That will at least get you a good starting point.
