I've noticed that the last two times that I have filled up, I'm missing one bar on the fuel gauge. The first time, I thought that maybe I did't fill the tank all the way. So this last time I let the pump cut off twice. Also I've noticed that I have all bars until I drive off. Anyone had this one?

I have also noticed that the first two bars of the fuel guage after filling up disappears alarmingly fast, like within the first 20 miles. Whazzz up with that ?????

To answer your question, I have no trouble filling the gas tank to the max and getting the maxium bars on the fuel guage. On average, I am getting about 220 miles on a full tank.

There have been other threads on similar problems. I have the opposite: up to 35 miles before first bar is gone, then next 2 go out with 15 miles, but after that 12-15 miles per bar. Others have last 2 or 3 bars go out quickly. I just figure that there is a wide range of characteristics. If you're letting the pump click off twice (that's what I do) you're getting as much gas in as you should.
