Default front spoilers...lips...experiences

Just wondering about how LOW the oem lip, amuse front lip etc...People who have them...do they scrape the ground all the time on bumpy roads??? is it a constant pain in the ass to worry about your car hitting the ground. I know those two black mud flappers hit the ground but im only interested in the lip's vulnerability. thanks

Its not that much lower, maybe like 1/2 inch lower at most. Never scrape.

If you don't slam your car, you will not have any clearance issues with just a front lip spoiler!

Y2K, I have had a front lip on my car since I have owned it (2.5 years) and haven't had too many instances where the front spoiler would scrape. The only thing to be careful of is parking the car, the front lip WILL scrape on the curb or those cement parking speed bumps. Steep driveways should be taken slowly. The one on my yellow is all beatup from autocrossing and some occasional mishaps, but you can't see it since its on the bottom of the lip. Plus at $300 a pop, its easily replaceable should anything happen.

Just out of curiousity, where is the best/cheapest place to pick up an OEM lip?

i got mine from hardtopguy (pm him) .....he works at a honda dealer....it was $343 shipped and i recieved it in 4 business days with all the hardware and instructions.....

i love this lip and wish i bought one as soon as i got my car..... to me....this is more than a lip....its sort of a bumper protector.... it keeps my original bumper from getting scrapes and rock chips and since its so affordable, its easily replaceable.....

I scrape the bottom of my Spugen lip all the time... but not when driving normally or over speedbumps, it's usually when going into a steep driveway or if you are making a uturn on a highway or major road (like the one near Evolution Auto) there is a big dip between the roads where I bottomed it out going about 5 miles an hour...

just be careful with it, normal roads and driving are fine.

*** EDIT: Remember that you lose about 2" from the front of the car so you can't park so close to the curb or those cement parking blocks.

When in doubt, approach slowly at an angle. This will raise the front end before the center of the lip would hit. Try it.
