Default Front license plate nut disappeared

The right mounting nut for my front license plate seems to have disappeared into the bumper and I can't figure out how to find the missing nut (imagine two empty holes where the bumper plugs go...no more threads).

Is there an easy way to locate the missing nut or do I have to pull the front bumper like I saw in some older threads.

the plate w/ the two nuts is held on by 2 plastic prongs. the plastic prongs probably broke so the plate is sitting right behind the bumper resting on the inside.

did nto really answer your question huh? you'll have to remove the bumper to get to it period.

Thanks for confirming. Looks like I'll pull the bumper tomorrow morning...or decide to stop running a front plate.

I have a 07 and took my plates off also with the same problem. Mine was not held on by anything. Once I try to put the painted caps on, it just fell off. Then I touched the other one and it was also very loose. Didn't have any problems with my other Honda's. Don't know why they designed it that way now. Anyhow, I spent a good 2 hours removing as much clips and bolt possible short of taking the bumper off and finally squeezed my fingers from the top with one hand and pulling the crap on the bumper to make room. Unless you want to take off the bumper, I suggest just glue it. Good luck

I just took off most of the front bumper this morning and fixed the missing nut. It took about 30 minutes to remove the bumper and 10 to put back on. It's really easy, especially with these instructions:

It's definitely easy, but it could be a PITA when it doesn't realign correctly.
