I went to look and I too have those tiny chips in my paint. I really never noticed it before because of the huge loss of paint on the chin spoiler from parking too close to sidewalks.

If you use your car, expect wear. Want showroom appearance, don't drive it.

at least its good to know i'm not the only one and that it affects other colors as well. this all started when i saw a 996 a month ago and the front bumper was chip-free and like some said i always attributed the chips because the front end was so low but that didn't explain the porsche. for about a month whenever i saw another "sporty type" vehicle i'd inspect the front end real quick for a little comparo. i even saw another AP2 in red and it looked a lot better condition than mine.

like some said i do drive my car a lot based on the miles and year (43k) so wear and tear is expected, but my previous cars never had it as bad as the S.

this weight savings that people talk about, is it documented that honda meant to do this on the S?

that can't be serious. the weight saved from a layer or two of clearcoat on the car is what, 5lbs?

black shows blemishes easier than most colors. thats common knowledge.

I have the same problem. 106K miles and literally hundreds (maybe even thousands) of paint chips on the hood, bumper, and front fenders.

Berlina Black as well.
