rebate is only up to 16.00.. i think 5 qts of syn is more than that, so you'll pay a little for it.. still a good deal though

5 free quarts, up to $16. Just sounds like an oxymoron to me.

Not an oxymoron...imagine if an unscrupulous retailer charged $100 a quart. They would have to rebate $500 bucks for a lousy 5 quarts of oil. Valvoline would go broke in no time.

They need to protect themselves too...

In the rebate form, after you're filled out necessary informations, name-address-phone-email ...; it shows the rebate is upto $16 for 5 quarts conventional MaxLife oil ($3.20/qt), or upto $29 for 5 quarts MaxLife Synthetic oil ($5.80/qt).

If you pay more than these prices, then extra cost is your own $

I got 2 rebates last year, one with cash rebate and one with a small tool set. If I remember correctly, no rebate was for Valvoline synthetic, only the conventional MaxLife.

Yes, there is a limit of the first 100,000 rebates received by Valvoline. If you guys like free oil, get it this weekend and mail in rebate form early.
