Finally, some meat on this thing, huh? While I consider myself a top Internet snooper, this has been the most challenging search I've ever done. Almost one hour of labor charged to NIH, the following is what I found , which I emailed the S2000 listserv earlier:

Kelton is usually used as "Kelton-type" or "Kelton configuration", to describe the woofer or sub-woofer portion of a speaker system. Apparently it is used in many of the home theater 3-way tower speakers made by JVC and Panasonic. At least for mobile applications, Kelton design is exremely space saving. For example, the kind that will become optional for S2000, Odyssey, Accord, and Prelude will fit underneath the passenger seat, yet providing great bass response.

Wanna see a picture of a Kelton car sub?

Are you sure?

Hmm..let me think if I should...

Okay.

http://catalog.edworthys.co.uk/acatalog/Edworthy_s_Catalogue_S peakers_incl uding_Sub_woofers_245.html#EAB-12132JB://http://catalog.edworthys.co.uk/acat...tml#EAB-12132JB://http://catalog.edworthys.co.uk/acat...tml#EAB-12132JB

Apparently the HTML anchor doesn't work in (at least for me), please scroll the page down to the Panasonic EAB-12132J subwoofer.

Saw a picture of the Sub at the little "option kiosk" at the dealer. There was a picture and it looked similar to the Panasonic you noted. I think it has a different housing, but very similar.

Should've just searched H-A Net. I posted these same pictures months ago.

I really question how good that little thing can sound when the factory stereo becomes inaudible at speeds over 50 mph with the top down. This is complete torture on interstate drives.

Ahh..that is one place I didn't go. After finding a new home here, it is hard to remember H-A.net. The upside is we have the same info here on this board! I'm wondering, if that self-powered Kelton can be hooked up to the factory head unit, maybe I can hook up my spare Kenwood self-powered dual voice coil sub as well. The head unit must have an extra pair of speaker output...

chris at www.snd-solutions.com in chantilly, VA used flat woofers on a 911 carerra. don't remember the brand he said he used, but they were very expensive but very full sounding. there's about as much room in those things as in our cars around the seats, and that thing goes quite a bit faster with the top down than us

OT - this guy did the sound system in the batmobile that cruises around the area: http://www.snd-solutions.com/pics/limo.jpg

I would be interesed in an efficient, lightweight sub, but only if it's affordable. Anyone know what Honda's price for this fella will be?
