Default Forget the glass rear window...

Just used BluMagic Plastic and Plexiglass celaner on my rear window. Bought it at PepBoys. I swear, the window looks as clear as glass. I really can't believe the diference between before and after. It took all of 3 or 4 minutes to clean. I would urge anyone thinking of shelling out for a new glass window to try BluMagic first on the plastic window first.

Did you have any scratching prior to using it? If so, did it remove any? I have used Plexus, the 3M and Meguiars Lines of Polish/Cleaners for Plastic Windows and they all do a fine job of removing the haze, but not too effective at removing scratches.

i use blue magic too and its works well as a cleaner but here's what's wrong...

1. won't do crap for existing scratches
2. won't prevent future scratches
3. won't prevent future deterioration of plastic
4. Cleaning the interior is a PAIN

"clear as glass" is misleading. it is not. i agree that it cleans it well but i would never want to drive looking through our rear window material.

have to seriously think about getting the glass window...

I've used all of these too and nothing seems to work on my window. Mine was bad when I picked up the car in 99. These products are great for keeping things from getting worse but my rear window just -- sucks.

Yeah, it looks like a rear glass window for me too.

I tried Blue Magic at first; however, unlike Meguiar's, Blue magic is not clear and can stain the top if you're not careful. That's what's good about both Meguiar's and Plexus: Clear, clean and easy to use.

I currently use Mothers plastic window cleaner on my s2000 and z3, both windows are perfect with NO scratches.

Give Mothers a try and see how it works for you

Yep - that's a problem with Blue Magic. Its just awful if it gets on the top. Also, I have found that it can be difficult to remove from the window, particularly on the inside. Perhaps I let it sit a few seconds too long before wiping it off. I find Plexus far easier to use. Easier to put on, easier to polish off, and no problem if a bit gets on the top. My Blue Magic has been collecting dust since I got the Plexus.
