I am now down the rabbit hole trying to source cam towers with matching caps.

If you know where I can find them or have them, please PM me. I will be posting in WTB as well.

Just took delivery.

With a blown engine and less than helpful dealership (so far), I had to console myself somehow. Knowing this community is full of enthusiasts, I thought I can try to have some fun.

Any guess as to what my consolation purchase is?

I've been thinking about this for the last 2 hours, what a great pic. I'm still studying and no official guesses yet.

It's a McLaren something. Idk their numbers that well but a brief google is getting me to guess a 765LT

@teckert thanks for giving this some thoughts!

@Jub Google makes it too easy.

It is a 765 LT spider. Well, I have officially declined the dealership offer of ~$500 discount on a $10K+ repair bill. Consolation purchase to help myself feel better is not bad though.

May I suggest you get this serviced, at a different dealer than the one that did the oil change on your S2k? Congratulations, looks awesome.

Thanks, @silvio1522

I visited my S2k at my local shop today. I think my S2k is in good hands now.

Luckily, I have great relationships in the McLaren land. McLaren Bellevue went through some staffing changes and the journey was a bit bumpy. However, I can wholeheartedly recommend them. As always, it’s less about things going perfectly. It’s more about how tough situations are handled.

Given how Jaguar Land Rover San Francisco acted, I will never do business with the Swickard Auto Group.

I knew it was a McLaren but had to google "McLaren Quad exhaust" to get the model.

Beautiful car and great color choice. The blue looks great with the carbon.

100% this. Even the best can make a mistake. The good ones will make it right.

Some random musings here. Assuming I stick with the S2000 platforms for a bit, I eventually would like to build a turbo car (not this 2006 as this will stay naturally aspirated).

Since I am so late to the game, @Ptuning kit is probably no longer available, right?

@King Tut build threads have all kinds of great information and I have been enjoying them. Looking like wastegate flow results in boost control challenges to a certain extent. Like @King Tut I gave SoS a chance but found their attitude not at all compatible with what I am looking for. Oh well.

@LHTuning is highly recommended by this community but sounds like custom turbo build isn’t their “thing”.

With being so late to the game, I will probably have to go the custom route. Maybe Jason Schmuck would be interested when the time comes.

My current ideation is G30 with electronic straight gate, equal length header, re-circulate dump tube, air-to-air, 9.X CR, 2.4L+, pump gas and unleaded race fuel (no ethanol fuel), still rev to 9k. Keep A/C and run a GESI cat.

Any shop recommendations for taking on something like this?
