The biggest thing is that the US just doesn't have enough natural resources to bail itself out once tech/auto/finance industries fail.

I really think that the more people feed into this, the more they dramatically change the way they live, the worse this thing will get.

Hey Thug Lyfe, What are you gonna do to your s14 when you're able to get an S? Keep it and turn it into a Drift car? Or get rid of it and not even look back?
i'm still deciding though, it was my first car that i bought w/ my own money and it's a little hard to part with it but since i'll be selling it for a better cause i guess it's not so bad.
so does anyone think ap2v1's will hit 12k by next year??

[QUOTE=ThuG LyFe,Dec 14 2008, 10:27 AM] well the s14 is my daily and nothing more. i like it looking nice because it's clean and more of a show than go. i don't drift (although that is THE question that gets asked everytime either that or "do you have an essssss arrrrrrrrr???" ) and in order to afford the S i will have to sell it...

haha i actually wouldn't mind an sr or an rb and i would love to boost my stock motor and smoke sr's and stock s2k's but i don't care much for too much speed. i also don't want to dump money into a 14 yr old car which i will never get back and i don't have the tools/space/knowledge to work on it myself.
a stock s2000 is fast enough for me and plus i figure it's like driving around a civic...and then when i want that speed i could just hit vtec lol.

who knows...i want to get at least 5k for it but i probably won't even if i list it up at like 5500$. but considering how there are absolutely NO clean body unmolested 240's are up for sale (most are beat up s13 autos) it just might be possible.
but assuming i can get like AT LEAST 4k for my car, if i can rack up 4k from working in summer and i have some sneaker collection left over that i can get like 2k from...i'll have 10k. maybe i can save up some more before and after summer too so i figure i could have maybe 11-12k by next winter...

^^^ Let's hope the economy isn't totally in the crapper by next winter, you'll have no problems finding S2K's in your range, however I seriously doubt you'll have any (non-lowball) buyers for your S14 either though
Think of the housing market (lots of sellers, very few buyers).

if ap2 prices are around 10k by next winter OMG, thats bs. You can almost buy a my00 or my01 right now for the same price as a good condition ITR. How is this possible? There isn't an unlimited amount of s2k's in the world and their resale value has to stabilize somewhere. That somewhere should be very VERY close to prices that we are seeing today.

true, most buyers will probably be lowballers but i will not give in that low...plus i believe it's easier to sell a car that costs just a few grand than something that costs over 10k. i'm also crossing my fingers that the upcoming fast and furious movie will boost some more 240 sales thanks to the bandwagon hoppers
i also highly doubt ap2's will be 10k...but a low of 12-13k and average of 14-15k sounds pretty realistic...compared to this year's low of 14-15k to average of 16-17k.
