Our car doesn't have an automatic option. We also don't fit people with 42" waists. There goes 75% of the American car market.

I believe Honda's intentional plans for the production of the S2000 was for something like only 2 or 3 years so considering that we're a pretty lucky group its still made.
Isn't the rumour being 2007 is the last model year and that's it until 2025?
Honda only brings out special S models every 25 years...so I predict the new model will be 2025.

Who on earth told you that they make an S roadster every 25 years
There have already been rumors of an next gen S2000 coming as soon as 2009. Obviously all rumors are taken with a grain of salt but this is far from 2025. I can guarantee you if Honda doesn't make an S2000 successor in the coming years, they'll be scores of pissed off S2000 owners (like me) clamoring for a new one!

If Honda cuts off the S2K with nothing but the Civic Si as it's only "Sporty" car, Honda is going to loose even more reputation. They are becoming a "Family Car" company, just like Toyota.

Takes you down to pretty much nil, leaving just those of us who love driving for the pure joy of it.

Ouch....but true!
And FWIW my golf clubs fit in the trunk. One of the best points about the s2k for me was that the trunk actually can hold a surprising amount of stuff for a small car.

On a slightly different note, the S2000 is definitely not a car that the general population wants nowadays.
Most people who are looking to buy a "sports car" end up looking for something that has more umph. The S2000 is great, but would still has a hard time keeping up with newer cars with wider tires, better brakes (flame suit on!!!), more powerful engine, more gadgets to make the car easier to drive at its limits (or even extending the limits), and etc. around tracks that magazines test on. Or even simply roads that people could drive and race on ...
Also, people like auto/F1-style tranny nowadays. The S2000 is a very fun car to drive, but in my opinion, fewer people appreciate that type of experience in today's world.

You guys are overlooking the obvious...35k for a four banger!!! Who the hell would pay that??? <-My father-in-laws opinion. He drives a Mustang GT and a Magnum R/T and thinks straight line acceleration is the only thing a performance car needs to be good at.
