If I'm going to have the car in for the grind fix, I figured I'd research replacing the flywheel... Anyone replaced theirs or know who makes them/prices/etc?

Thanks!

Actually the price is more like $499 (list), but you could get it cheaper through some Toda dealers.

Fito (or anyone that has something similar installed), is there an appreciable difference? Something that makes a big difference to you, at least? That's far from being cheap...

Thanks again,

The light flywheel makes a noticeable difference in how fast the car revs. I could say is one of the best mods you could do.

Pepe,

Any downsides? Rough idle, vibrations, starter engagement, uphill speed?

I've been thinking of doing this mod myself.

So far, so good. No negatives with the exception of $$$ plus taking the trany out.

But if you plan to replace the clutch or do the 2nd gear grind service it would be less costly and done by the Honda dealer.

You do have to rev the car a little bit more when starting to move (-/+500rpms). The car is a joy now around town because I don't have to engage VTEC that often and if I do it happens faster. Top end speed and accelerationa re still the same as far as I know.

Pepe,

Thanks, I'll be doing the clutch, pressure plate too. Most likely use the Mugen PP. Never had the "grind" so I'm doing the work myself.

BTW:

ACT clutch group buy will be happening very soon. Stay tuned to the parts counter. The ACT unit provides enough clamping force to handle 320 ft/lbs of torque, so you know it will never slip.

The Toda FW is available through MG Racing. I was thinking about the same thing.
