I've had no nails, but have lost pressure over time. I didn't check the pressure because the tires didn't look low - those stiff sidewalls at work. They were down to 18-19 psi and still looked normal.

Now I'm checking often.

What i meant by the tire design, is that most tires have individual knobs on the tread that are higher and absorb some nails, screws etc. Our tires are smooth in design and not as protected as some other tires.

I'd had 2 nails in 2 years, but also they were in 2 different type of tires. My guess its normal road hazrads.

I've had my car for nearly 4.5 years and have never gotten a flat tire. I have gotten flat tires in the past with different cars and different kinds of tires. It has nothing to do with tire design. Truck tires have deep lugs ("knobs" as you call them) and they get flats, too. It's pure BAD luck.

I have had several flats due to nails in my S2K. One of them even happened on a race track!!! I think the softer compound in the tires has something to do with it and I also think there's some bad luck involved. I haven't had one in a couple of years.
