Default First performance upgrade

Whats going on everybody?

I am a pretty new S2000 owner (3 months). I am now looking to do some performance upgrades. Would like to put some new rims on it but, rims for this car are just so damn expensive so, rims will have to go on the backburner for now.

I wanted to get some exhaust first. I have been looking for exhaust everywhere but none gives me any performance gains that I see as being reasonable. Before anyone makes any suggestions, I do not want a single sided exhaust. I want dual. I just like the way it looks better. I am not into just all out performance. I still kinda want to keep the overall sexiness of the car.

I was looking at this exhaust from billy boat exhaust. They custom build exhaust when you request it. For those of you whom are not familiar with billy Boat, her was a racer a while back. That all I know LOL!!! Here is the like to the website with the S2000 on it, tell me what you think or, iff any of you have any suggestions on what Exhaust I should get. Please let me know. Be sure that you check out the video on the page. The exhaust sounds really tough!!!

Suggestions about Headers and air intake would be greatly appreciated too. Remember, I am just a Soldier so, I don't make that much money. With that in mind, I really appreciate your comments. Heres the link!!!

Thanks everyone!!!

There are plenty of threads on exhausts, especially lately. Hell, there are probably a few on the first page of the forum. Search and you should find answers to your questions, except maybe on the opinions of the Billy Boat exhaust. I'm not sure if I'd want to say I have a "Billy Boat exhaust" on my car.

there is no dual exhaust system that will give you rasonable performace, only single will give you some, but not much. Is really hard and expensive to gain some HP on this car, unless you go FI

exhaust system = looks and sound, and maybe like 3 or 4 hp gain ( and lyou ooking to spent like ( $800 - 1200 )

intake = same thing

s2000 = no cheap parts =/

Actually, that looks kinda nice. However, I doubt it will give anymore gains than what's already out there. It also looks like they've put their own "resonance weinie" in to help with drone and sound tuning. With the extra piping, it may even weight more than what's out already. Also, a bit pricey for an unknown product. This is the first I've heard of "Billy Boast" for S2000 exhausts. You'd be a pioneer. Let us know what you think if you get one.
Doesn't sound any different than most other exhausts out there, as least on an internet sound file.
I do sorta agree with this comment:
I'm not sure if I'd want to say I have a "Billy Boat exhaust" on my car.

Actually on the upper right corner of the B. Boat site is a downloadable video which features the exhaust on the S....sounds good for the short time you can hear it. Not a bad looking unit, either IMHO.

Do you have hookups from someone for this exhaust?

Because if you click on "order" it shows the pricing, $1195 or so.

If thats how much you were willing to pay for an exhaust, I think the members here can come up with a lot more suggestions in that price range for you to consider.

Personally I am not enough of a pioneer to spend 1K+ on an exhaust that probably no member here has ever used.

What's wrong with the stock exhaust?

Single does look hot. I think it's silly to have dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder. Dual exhaust IMO should only be used with "true" dual exhaust systems. This would mean using a V6, V8, etc. where 3 and 3 or 4 and 4 cylinders have their own piping out back. Just splitting the exhaust to have two outlets is not the proper setup for maximum horsepower.

There are single exhausts out right now for under 1000 dollars that will give you 15 horses at the wheels. I'd rather pull a car or two on a stock S2K and look awesome with single than be neck and neck and just look stock But hey, that's just the way I roll (soon enough, actually )

Well, I had a friend who had this exhaust and it was sold by AM performance or something like that for Billy boat. Then AM stopped selling it and Bily boat kept on. My friend whom has it put it on the Dyno and it gave him like 9 or ten more ponys @ the wheels. Every other exhaust I have seen was like 2,3,4,5. I know, the name billy boat sound crazy but, I think its a good system. Oh, and by the way, I do have a hook up on them. I got the price dropped about 200 bucks.

Don't like the way they look. Will never pay that much money for barely any performance. Rather buy an Invidia exhaust system with titanium tips from ebay for under $600.00 3.7 hp on dyno. Still sucks but cheaper.
