First oil change????
I had my car in for its first oil change and ofcourse I inspected the car very well after I got it back. I even checked the oil in the parking lot right outside the dealer. It was filled half-way between the L and the H. Well, I took it back and asked them to fill it to the H. The guy who was working on it came out and said "that is where it is supposed to be filled up to, trust me." I spoke to the service manager and said that I would feel better if it was filled up to the H, so they did it. Was I wrong, is he right? Just curious if anyone has had a similar experience.
Miller Honda, Culver City, by the way.

Matt,
I do my own oil changes and on every Honda I've ever owned, the oil is always half way between the L and the H. It's stayed like that on my S2K since the day I bought it. No problems at all.
If you took the car back, make sure they didn't accidently overfill the car. That would be bad for the engine.

Dealers have always filled my Honda's to the H mark including the S. If your S does not use any oil I would say that it would be less of an issue for it to be between L and H. Closer to H is better than closer to L in my opinion for a little added insurance.

Hmmm... interesting. When I checked the oil for the first time on my car, it was filled all the way to the H. Maybe this is why people are arguing about whether they need 5.1 quarts or 5.6 quarts for oil change since 0.5 quart would make the oil level from halfway between L and H to all the way at the H.
