Thanks to you guys, I just finished hardwiring my GPS. I also ordered a spun aluminum countersunk shift knob from Rick. I can't wait to feel how it shifts with it.
I have my GPS on the bottom left hand corner of the windshield right now. I was thinking of getting Modifry's Custom Dash Bracket but I am not sure where to run the power cord so that it would be hidden, without drilling into the dash. Any ideas anyone?

I have an afc mounted with a dash bracket i made in the same spot modifrys would mount. I just ran the cable along the bottom of the afc and the between the dash and the plastic controls panel is. seems like the easited place because the bracket already goes between there. makes it stick up a little bit because of the wire but its fine

If you're looking for the bracket, I have one that's cheap.

Chillout18,
The wire that powers my GPS is pretty thick, I think that there would be a huge gap bet. the dash and the heating controls. I'll try to post some pics of my set up later.

does anyone know if there is an official "post pics of your GPS solution" thread? it would be cool to see where all people have put their GPS units
Most mount them right in the face of the dash (like JDM), a few of us spend a lot of time and money concealing them inside the dash.

Anyways, I just got Modifry's bracket and velcroed my GPS on it. And everytime my battery is about to die, I just plug my car adapter to it so it can recharge. I would love to do the JDM Navigation on the dash, just can't get myself up to do some dash cutting.

i put my navi at the base of teh windshield in the center. i run the power cable where the dash meets the window. you can even see it through the vin number window lol. then i took off the a pillar cover and routed the wire down through the hole to be hardwired

A little confused here.... If you hardwired the GPS, as in split wires and connected them into the car, why do you still need the power cord? It should turn on as you turn your car on if done correctly.
