First Honda Dealership in America
Well I live right around the corner from the very first one. Don't worry it looks like all the rest with the blue sign and wavy awning design, but I thought someone out there might be trying to put together a scrapbook, or just want to talk about it. It's in Honolulu, as is the first Mazda, Toyota, and Nissan dealers.. lol. I think they came here first because it was so close. I wonder where the first cars they sold are.
They used to be called Downtown Honda. and their jingle was set to Help me Rhonda by the Beach Boys.. it went "Downtown Honda YEAH, Serves you right here in town!"
It was started by Jimmy Pflueger in 1963. His sons Alan and Michael are both avid auto racers. They employ 137 people and recorded somewhere in the neighborhood of 35-40 million dollars in sales last year.
I wonder where some of those first cars are for real! S500s, S600s,8s, scooters and cycles! Anyway here's some pics.
some i took on my own.
