First driving impression
#1
It was starting to rain when I left the dealer in my new S2K, so I only have about four miles under my belt, and it's parked for the night while the rain goes on.
But wow! My first impression is the taughtness of the car and every component. I was in slow traffic, so I didn't get over 5000 RPM, but it's incredibly responsive. The driving position is perfect for me and I found the ride, suspension, noise level, etc. just right for my taste.
But a downer. There was another S2K buyer right after me, a woman in her 20s with purple hair, *****ing about the monthly payment to the saleswoman. I couldn't belive it. She was buying a yellow one, but it looked like the deal might not go through. As my saleswoman said, "does this woman think she has some bargaining power here? We're selling at MSRP and I've got a line a mile long of people who want these car." So there may be a yellow STK available at Heritage Honda in Towson, Maryland tonight or tomorrow morning.
I'm love this car! Can wait to crank it up in the morning! Just hope it isn't raining.
Now onto preparing the post for the windscreen group buy.
BTW, contrary to my instructions, the dealer mounted the front lisence plate, which I'll have to pull off in the morning.

Sweet, Rick! Can't wait to hear your impressions of the car sans rain.
But it's too bad you got the silver. Everyone else knows that red it the best and ONLY color for the S2000!
I'm thrilled for you!

meat,
You bet. I was watching the tach like a hawk, knowing how easy it is to exceed 6000.
Greg,
When I was at Townsend they showed me some incredible metallic silver leather, which put in the red S2K, would make an inverted silver/red. It would be stunning, and finally give your red car the beauty of silver/red .

Rick,
congratulations on (finally) getting your car!
Make sure your front bumper isn't scratched by the license plate frame... Mine was . The dealer did a pretty good job buffing it out, but still annoying.
Have fun!
