I love how these theads turn into people bitching about how the s2000 isn't a drag car. Well no shit, but its the best Honda platform to use. I don't see in his post where he asked anyones opinion on if he should drag race his car.
High 13sec 1/4 times are possible with a stock S2000 in ideal conditions

I love drag racing and i love bench pressing LOL
yet i want an s2k. I plan on "draging" my s2k when i get it but only for socially. kinda like socal drinking, your drinking but not to get drunk but to do it socially. All my friends have GT's cameros and such and they all enjoy drag racing.
So if you are doing it socially my advice is to just start normally once you get a 5 mph roll going just gun it. Its fun for you and easy on your baby.

I think you can def get better times!!! I just went recently to the track and my bone stock S2 and my worst time was a 14.1 @ 98 and my best was a 13.72 @ 99. It was the first time for my S2 at the track and i launched it from 6k when i ran my best time, but didnt really break traction with my wheels it was more my clutch I still cut a 2.04 60' which i was really happy with. If you go again just be careful not to get to much traction and launch high between 7500-8k better to lose traction than a diff.
And Red MX5 i still owe you my timeslip. I havent forgot! Just been busy at work.

hey guys this is my first time at a track nevermind with my s2k. lol my car is stock and i was running bald BALD potenzas lol, but the vht made up for that. My best run was 14.9 @ 93mph.... Is that an ok run for crap tires and noob launches? If you guys are getting way better times, i would like to know how you launch without putting TOO MUCH stress on the diff. because i was cautious oabout damaging my differential i only launched at 5k... do you guys pop your clutch or do you slip it.
Any input guys.
And for those with mods on their car (NA) what kinda times are you guy running?

I figure on a 50-60 degree day with low humidity and a good launch, 13.7 is easily possible.
I slip the clutch to save the diff. But may launch it hard once or twice if I go on the 19th. But I'll probably flake on going. If it was a road race event, I'd go no questions asked lol.
