It finally happened to me, I got rear ended ... (not too bad, but still sad)
long story short. it was stop and go traffic. the guy at my back hit me, my car launched and hit the guy in the front.
the damage was minor. in the front, i got a bent front license plate (and maybe some light scratches). in the rear, i have some scratches (not too deep), a dent near the license plate on the bumper (no visible crack), the license plate actually poped out a little bit. not too bad but i know they are there.
we exchanged insurance info.
though this is pretty sad, i still have to deal with it. i will call insurance company and hope that this will get taken care of by the prospective insurance company.
question: since the damage was not serious, do i need to worry about anything besides the sore neck of my passenger's and mine? hidden bent metal? the material inside the bumper?
to makes thing worse, i stepped on gum and some got onto the muz mat (cleaned out most of them already)
besides these 2 incidents, i had a pretty good day so far though

Have the car checked out by a shop. They need to look under the bumper cover and make sure nothing is bent. Also, check your mufflers and exhaust tips and make sure they didn't get pushed out of place.

In Texas (Dallas) the Police will not come out unless it is an injury accident or a car is disabled.
Was rear ended at a stop light not to long ago, by a BMW X5. It spidered the paint...cracked the bumper cover, cost right around $800.00 to have fixed.
Sorry to hear about the accident Stockag92. Best of luck in finding a good bodyshop!

Stockae92,
Regarding the chewing gum: sometimes if you hold an ice cube against the gum, you can remove the hardened gum easier than when it's soft and sticky.

i called my insurance company, gave them the info.
now i wait for the adjuster to call and have an estimate on the repair.
there wasn't a police report, this isn't even a fender bender, it's more like bumper-denter-n-scratcher. i don't think the cops here in LA really likes to be bothered for such minor accident. they will just told me to exchange info and go. (that's what happened last time with another car)
though the damage was minor, i would hate to have it fixed out of my own pocket. so i would have to make the other guy pay.
thanks redy2ks2k
