Finally Got My S2000
#11
Thanks for the replies. I guess I will keep my cover in the house as well.
Just to let you all know, I only have 100 more miles till I can open this beast up. Since I live in Blacksburg, VA, and had to pick up my car in Silver Spring, MD, I'm almost to the magical mileage number.
nvmys2k, I did get my car for MSRP.
Thanks again.

Somewhat on the same topic, for those of you that do use the top cover - have you had any problems with it remaining seated? Specifically, mine will stay properly connected at the "snaps," but the two back lips do not stay seated. After a drive, instead of being tucked snugly under the lip, they are resting on top of it. Am I missing something? I do agree it's a nightmare to install/remove, but it bothers me that I can't get it installed properly!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Congrats, S2000_Hokie. The boot cover is a major PITA to install (although I am improving) and to store in the trunk. If you folded the boot in half, right down the middle, it will almost take up the whole trunk space. There are directions on the boot cover itself which, I think, advises to fold the two wing parts into the inner sleeve in the middle. This will work if you REALLY force or jam it in. It will make it more compact and thus take up less space in the trunk. I don't know what kind of impact it will have on the boot cover when folded like this for an extended period. Not a good alternative either, IMO. But I still use the boot whenever the top is down.
pittpanther, I get the same problem: the back end of the boot does not stay tucked under after some spirited driving. After installing the boot, try pushing the boot down and back (towards the end of the car). This has helped a little, it still pops up now and then. I am trying to make the two tabs on the back of the boot longer. That might solve the problem.

Congrats....
We just got our Silver about 2+ weeks ago. I like the Yellow, but I'm sure that around here, it would be like advertising for a ticket.
Beautiful weather all last wekend, so had the cover on a lot. It seems to get a "little" easier each time.
By the way, would someone let me know what the break-in period is that everyone seems to wait for????? (I know it's probably in the manual...)
