If you think an S2000 or any Honda is hard to drive manual, go drive a Porsche or Vette and then compare. Hondas are like driving marshmellows in comparison!

I have a hard time seeing how a floor mat can hamper shifting too, but to each his own.

I put my left foot on the foot rest. and have my heel attached there and twisted in a little to toe in the clutch. At first it was hard because twisting like that would hurt. But not anymore. So my carpet is safe. hhaha

Now Heel and toes is a bitch to me. I keeps on missing the gas. and missing timing on shift. hahha o well.. another day is another chance.

lol some of you guys make me laugh, theyre floormats... its a wear and tear item. It is designed to take abuse... why put yourself in discomfort to save some floormats?

Well, first of all, its a mat, it raises the level of the floor what, 4 mm? Second, it saves the real carpeting from getting worn out (not to mention stained and dirty), and while S2000s have sub-par carpet to begin with, I'd still rather replace a mat than pull out the entire interior carpet because I put a hole in it with my foot. The mat is designed to take the abuse, not the carpet imo.

When I learned to slow my shifts slightly, they became much smoother.

The mat in my civic used to get pushed up under the pedals to the point where I would be driving down the street and couldn't disengage the clutch. I just had to pull the mat back towards the seat and voila, no need to remove the mat.
