Finally drove an S... is it a good deal?
I test drove a 2001 S2000 last night. It has 24,100 on the odometer and it's in nice shape. It could probably use some new rear tires soon. I did notice a strong smell when I came back from the test drive. It smelled like clutch, or brakes, I'm not sure. Is this bad, or was that just from me driving like a dumbass. I didn't drive it real hard, so it probably wasn't the brakes. Anyway they want $23,000 for the car, and they're not going to budge. What do you think?

That price is about a grand too high to be an average price but if the car is in good shape I wouldn't call it a rip.
After my test drive the clutch was reaking. I didn't know you had to side step the clutch to make it work on a high rev launch so I toasted it.

thats too much. I would try looking for an '02 or higher for that price cuz you will get the glass window instead of the plastic one that gets milky over time and you will have to replace it. so sppend the money now and not later.

You will love the plastic rear window. Not only is there some real nostalgia involved in a sports car with a non-glass window, it is also much bigger than the little piece of glass they put in. Just get some cleaner and it will be clear for many many years.

I think it's rude disrespecting someone's property by driving it so hard on a test drive that you roasted the clutch. drive it pretty hard, and get a feel for it's handling, but launching it and roasting clutches so much that you can smell it before you've even bought it?
f*cked up.
