final drive gear
i drive an ap1 s2k.
i wanna change out my final drive gear, but i dunno what i wanna go with.
4.44, 4.57, 4.77...
can anyone give me any mph numbers where that shortens each gear?
also how's everyone liking it who's done it. and any advice on what one i should go with

First, you should post up how you drive your car and what you expect to get out of it so people can accurately recomend a product for you. Pure race? Around town? Purely highway? Etc.

You should be asking how each FD gear will affect real world top speed. The stock AP1 is geared to go around 166 mph, but it can't go that fast due to drag limitations.
Thus, 4.44 and 4.57 gears will not reduce your top speed either. However, 4.57s is almost optimum for your car since it gears the car's top speed to about the same as what it can go due to drag (about 152 to 155 mph). 4.77s WILL decrease your real world top speed, but will significantly improve your acceleration times (unless you can't shift quickly) to that lowered top speed. Without the speed calculator, I'm only calling upon my poor memory to say that the 4.77 reduces top speed to about 142 mph.
Oh, and S2kracka has some very valid points.

4.77 for me, but I don't care about MPG and I don't go 140+MPH.

well, i want something that won't be annoying to drive around town, but also i'd like to improve my acceleration from a dig or from 40-60+ mph rolls on the interstate, i don't think 4.77 is for me, cuz i love interstate runs.
