Filling up for gas (amusing)
#11
My dealer told me I wasn't supposed to add gasoline or oil myself. He said to bring it in for service whenever I got any warning lights on the dash.
j/k old one from a previous thread.

Maybe I'm just different, but I sat down and read the owner's manual cover to cover (with the exception of a big chunk of the radio section) right after all of the paperwork was complete and the car was officially mine. All of the little details like glove box, fuel door, dual trip meters, instrument brightness, and how to properly change a flat rear tire were explained once at the beginning. I probably should reread the radio section, since I accidentally reprogrammed all of the stations recently when I pushed the A-SEL button at the wrong time. Oh well, who listens to the radio anyway? (Especially in the radio wave black hole where I live.)
My wife is just the opposite. She doesn't want to even hear about how things work until it's an emergency situation.

I had to show the dealer where everything was located. Thank god I cruised this board for 6 months before I picked her up.
And my wife no only won't drive Melissa, but she won't gas up any of our vehicles unless she's close to running out. Usually I get them when the fuel light is on.

This is one car where you have to RTFM, although I always do that very early after purchase. The gas tank release is hidden, the oil dip stick is in plain view, but you can't see it until after you read the manual, and if you have a flat on the front and don't know the proper changing procedure (yes, it's different), you're screwed. And then, there's the "secret compartment".

Fortunately, I hadn't gotten to the gas station yet before I suddenly realized there's no gas cap release. I took looked around and finally found it. The same stupd smile appeared on my face when I found it. I kinda like all the little nuances (sp?) that this car has. It makes it special!

My dealer actually knew about the gas cap release. Probably because he had to fill it up before delivery. However I've had my S2000 for almost 2 months and I just discovered the storage space under the Aero screen yesterday.
I felt pretty stupid.

My wife had to ask someone in her office to find the release for her. I found it right away cable operated it could only be in one of 3 places. I found the secret compartment while exporeing athe car in the showroom had to step over the velvet ropes to get to it. nearly drove it to the dealer to get passanger window working when i realized i had bumped the child window lock out switch
