Default Filling the holes behind the side strakes..

Hi guys..simple question. If I take my S to the best body shop in town do you think in a few years from now i'll be able to tell there used to be holes there? Is this a pretty normal process for body shops or do you think filling the holes is not a good idea in the long run? I plan on keeping this car for sometime and I really just hate my side strakes now. Any info would be helpful!! Mike

They can be welded closed for sure or bondo'd even. Will be pricey as you would have to repaint the quarter panel as well.

If the work is done by a quality shop I can't see why you would have a problem

I think that as long as it's clean with no corrosion, you should be fine. If the holes have started to corrode, then sometimes even the best repair won't last and the corrosion will continue to spread. Years later, you'll see the evidence.

Basically what everyone has said. If it is done correctly, you shouldn't have any issues in the future. Definitely a simple task for a reputable body shop. It's all about maintaining it after just like the rest of your car. Keep corrosion of your car.
