Well i know some have been asked before and when i searched i couldn't get a straight answer. First off i am going to be getting a new car within the month. I have narrowed it down to either a S2k or a IS300. My problem is which one to get. I know the S2k is a lot more fun to drive, but it is small(space wise). When thinking about it, it doesn't seem like something i would care about. The other thing is that im only 18(yes i am buying the car myself) and i don't really think i would need a 5 seater car(the IS300). Its not like i don't have the rest of my life to own a nice luxury car. So what do you guys think on this.

Also what are some of you guys paying for insurance. I live in SoCal and have a clean record. Thanks for you time and input.

The 2 cars are very different, save for the rear wheel drive. A big part of the S2K is lifestyle, Think about just a few of these things,
1) would you feel safe leaving this car out on the street infront of a house party?
2) Any chance you may have to bring two buddies along with you?
3) Will A Hi-Po car meet your everyday needs?
4) is the trunk big enough?
5) Where are you going to be in a couple years? does it still fit into the big picture.

I'm not trying to disuade you from buying the Honda. Lord knows it's one truly amazing car. That's why I bought one. But for me It could never be my only car. I have an Accord to take care of the hauling, and every day driving. The S2000 does make a good every day driver in the basic sense of the term, but it, like all cars has it's limitations.
Try to weigh the options....Only you can pick the best car for you. Just don't get caught up in the "cool" factor and pick it for the wrong reasons.
Hope this helps, If my rambling didn't lose your attention

Mike

Thanks for the advice. I have tried to think about those things. And i am still stuck. I have drove both cars, and i enjoyed both. When i drove the S2000 the guy let me get on it and i was really impressed. I was thinking that if i do decide to get the S2000 then in a year or so i would purchase another car that is more practical.

With all respect, I think you need to think a bit more about exactly what you want to do with your new car. I mean, the choice between a back seat or no back seat is pretty fundamental. And it's a choice only you can make, because everyone's life and needs are unique.
