i'm 6' 270lbs, and I fit in mine like a glove, the only thing that I have issue with is getting into my pockets while in the car, beyond that it's perfect for me.

at 180 my seat feels a little too tight. I like the feel better at 160 and under. We have a fellow in our club who weighed all of 300 and he loved his car and drove it all the time. I think you should just sit in one.

Good luck on the weight loss, and just be thankful your not here in the US with all the GMO's and fast foods! Have you tried looking at dealerships (new and used) for an S to sit in or test drive?

a friend of mine is a 350lb wrestler. He fits. albeit snugly. As for that 400lb weight thing, i decided to push it once around a corner with him in the car and was rewarded with a blowout. So... no more driving fast with the car overloaded.

though, having a wrestler can be handy. I didn't have anyplace for the toolkit with my 350lb buddy in the car. so he did this.

I'd blame the tire, not the load limit of the car.

Tires have load limit (and speed limit, inflation pressure limit... etc) too, can't blame the tire if you overload it.

Sorry to say it but I don't think this car is for a heavier/taller person.

Depends on what the tire load is, but I doubt they were overloading the one tire that went. It probably has a max load of 1,300lbs+ and what those ratings always have a buffer on them to account for people who push them. I've driven my AP2 hard with around 500lbs of passenger and at no time did I feel like the tires were in danger of failing or that the handling of the car was compromised.

Of course it depends on what the tire load is. I work in a tire company and I know we always design our tires so that they endure more then required by legislated.
If you play by the rules and something happened to your tire, then blame the tire all you want. All I am saying is, please don't blame the tire for everything like most lawyers like to do.
I don't know what tires he had on or load distribution and/or other condition the tire has seen, so I am not saying it's definitely not the tire's fault, I just don't think we can be sure with the information presented here.

tires were new. they were uhp as's. car felt squirmy under accel with the passenger, and the blowout occurred at 75mph sideways. fun. car is a stock ap1 with stock suspension/rims/tire sizing.

the turn was an uphill right with a light banking. It had metal expansion joints, when the rear end went over the expansion joint under acceleration, i got wheel spin and the tire blew out.
