Fast or Ugly?
Question:
Would you feel better driving an ugly car that was cheaper and fast (Lancer Evo, SVT4 Neon), or a great looking car (S2k) that was a little more expensive and a little slower (well, slower than the Evo anyway)?
The Evo to me looks too boxy and ugly to bother washing and the Neon, well c'mon, you can't polish a turd.

Sort of like dating a super-model who can read.........better than a date with a homely girl who's an english major.
No offense to all the homely english majors out there.

Unless you plan on street racing into a Wendy's drive-thru 3x/week, pure speed is only applied when needed but ugly is 24/7, be it 10mph or 100mph. I find the EVO and STi reminding me of the kind of cars I played with as a kid that when rolled across the carpet, sparks would fly out the ass end, making the cats run for cover. Not stylish at my age, least for me but fine for others I suppose.

Everyone has an opinion on styling.
As you can see from my avatar I am partial to Rally racing and find the STI and EVO very attractive (except for the large mistsu emblem in the front). I think one finds the styling on these cars easier to appreciate when you have a Rally interest in the first place. Then the you can see the benefits of the design.
Rally definitely has the sporty, yet boxy look, because the sport is done on "real" roads really fast! My S can't take the punishment like the STI and the EVO can.
At the same time, I own a S2000 because I love racing of all forms and the S has the characteristics I need...

for me I have to be in a car I feel comfortable being seen in. I have to WANT to drive the car.
Speed, for me, is both relative and trivial.
i prefer humility in my women.....and my cars. it makes both easier to appreciate when they suprise you by doing wonderful things.
