Fair price for 2008?

Yeah, maybe a little on the high side, but its hard to find really nice low mile S2K's. I bet he/she really doesn't have to sell it and is thinking he/she will only let it go for a high price. I think if I wanted a nice one I would pay the price. (And I did not too long ago.) One thing to keep in mind, there are not a lot of people looking for two-seaters in this market and many of the ones who are can't afford them or get financing. So what I'm saying is, there is probably not a line forming in back of you for the car. If it is a color you like and you really want it, either pay the price or make a polite offer at maybe $27,000 and give them something to think about. Just my 2 pennies.

I think the asking price is outrageous to be honest, I'm surprised members are saying otherwise. If you intend of keeping the car then get something with a few more miles. It's four soon to be five years old. No matter the miles it's far from "new"
It's a Honda so don't worry about issues. I also have an 08 gpw that I got for 22,400 with 21,000 miles cpo in November of 2010.
I'd definitely look again for a better deal, you shouldn't pay more than ~$20,000 for an 08 regardless of miles. The warranty is over as well so do yourself a favor and don't worry about the miles. I'm not trying to be rude, just astonished at the responses.

The S2000 market is totally different than an Accord's market. There are an abundant numbers of Accord out there so it's easily negotiable. A clean S2000...not so much. I wouldn't pay a lot more than kbb, but it may be worth it if a car was taken care of very well.
And yes, where you buy your car matters. S2000 prices in Los Angeles, CA is going to be different than in out in the middle of nowhere in Montana.

I think the price is high but if it really is spotless it could be worth it to someone in the market for a clean 08 with low miles
i beleive KBB is compeltely off because they dont know how to value cars that arent made anymore. they dont take how rare a low mileage car thats not made any more is and just base it off age. if the car your talkin about has had only 1 owner and was garage kept its not that outragous but its deffinitly steep its worth atleast throwing an offer. someone will buy it and give it a good home if you dont.

Thanks everyone for your opinions. I offered the seller $28,000 today and he said 29,500 was as low as he would go. In fact, he thinks he can get 35-40k for it (he's only had it on the market for a week). I'm really tempted to go for it, but after reading some of these comments perhaps I'll just keep looking. The pros are that it is in my home town and it's the color combo I've been looking for (red seats too).

If low mileage is a big factor for you then it's worth it. But in my search last year I saw several low mileage cars that were thrashed. I assume it's because a lot of the cars were leases and the people didn't take very good care of them. So if it's low mileage AND clean it's worth more than KBB. The few 08-09 cars listed with under 10,000 miles on them are around the $29,500 he's asking. And since he's local you would save on the hassles of out-of-state purchases.
If spotless condition and mileage aren't a big deal you can find a bunch of cars for thousands less than what he's asking. But GPW is going to be the toughest to find and most expensive.

In the interest of saving several thousand dollars, I suggest that you be just a little bit compromising with color and milage. 1. Increase acceptable colors to three, and 2- define low milage as less than 20 thousand.
I think you should be able to find severel cars within a few days that meet these criteria in near perfect condition.
