Default Fading headlights

And all I came up with in the search were threads for clearing headlights and rick's diffusers. Soooo wanted to find out about how to remedy my fading headlights on my '00. Is there anything I can buy from a local store? maybe a polishing compound or something? thanks, andy.

edit, u can see here near the top what i'm talking about hopefully

Yes, a polishing compound would help in removing that, but I would suggest using a machine along with the compound as it is really tiresome to work the polish by hand, since this is thick hard plastic you're dealing with and not thin paint.

For starters you can buy a bottle of Meguiar's PlastX, found at most auto parts stores, a microfiber or foam applicator, and a buffing towel.

Also visit the Wash & Wax forum of the site. There are plenty of people there who will help you out with this.

You didn't even need to search, all you had to do is go to the Wash n Wax forum....

You should really try and use Meguiars PlasticX. Comes in a white bottle and you'll find it at any autoparts stores.

Since the rear plastic was meant to be clear, yes. Meguiar's PlastX was made to polish any type of clear plastic.

Yes, that stuff works great IMO and I use it regularly on my headlights, taillights, and on the outside and inside of my plastic rear window...

be careful when youre sanding! also for the people who asked about the rear window, make sure not to put too much pressure cause you can crack the plastic if you press too hard.
