"Factory" Supercharged S2K

"Factory" Supercharged S2K
So I've been meaning to ask this for a while. I have an '05 S2k with a "factory" comptech s/c set up. I've done a bit of research on the cars they released with the set up. I have also talked with Shad of Driving Ambition, former Comptech employee. So from what I have gathered is Comptech had a deal with Honda (or possibly just a few dealerships) that comptech would install s/c set ups and do up an S2k with a couple extra bell and whistles and the vehicle would still have a factory warranty. I know for sure all came with Comptech; s/c, header, and exhaust. Mine came with Koyo rad, APR cooling plate, OEM side strakes, OEM front lip and OEM hard top. I was the second owner of the car, but when i got it the story I got was an "old guy" traded it in for a Mercedes. To my knowledge the previous owner did nothing to the car but drive it on the weekend, 8k miles after 2 years.
I guess I'm curious to know how many ppl ended up getting one of these. Was it only in proximity to Nor Cal? And about how many are out there?

Being in the S2000 game for 14 years.... I've never heard of such thing. I will be watching this thread to see if there is some credibility to your story. Do you have supporting paper work? Not that you have any warranty left anyway.

I've been around here 11 years, and don't think there is a factory supercharged car at all.
99% this is a dealer had Comptech install the stuff, then agreed to honor the warranty. I can all but guarantee you American Honda didn't have anything to do with this.

From what I have read, IF a person wanted to have a Comptech S/C installed at a Honda dealer, that dealer had the choice if they wanted to retain the warranty on their work/parts. Its wasnt a Honda policy, but an agreement between the individual dealers and Comptech.

I'm just looking for more info on this. I wish I did have the paper work but like I said I got it second hand. All the paperwork is lost forever.
Ya I say "factory" in quotes because I honestly don't know, but "dealership" is probably the most appropriate
Shad from driving ambition is my only creditable source.

I worked at an Acura dealer in Raleigh, NC back in 2004-2006. We had a customer with a Comptech S/C'd NSX and a couple of other Comptech goodies. I was told that the car retained it's full warranty through Honda since it was Comptech and installed by a licensed facility. This led me to believe that Comptech and American Honda had an agreement. That is all to say that Honda would carry out it's regular warranty and if a problem where to arise with the S/C, Comptech would warranty it for the duration of the Honda warranty. Essentially adding a Comptech S/C would not void your Honda warranty.

I have heard a few times on this forum that some dealers offered Comptech kits on their brand new cars. Obviously they didn't come from the Honda facility that way, but instead the dealer installed the kit and sold the car. Original warranty still intact. Makeshift sense since their kit was the only 50 state legal kit. I'd imagine they were mostly SoCal dealers since Comptech is here in SoCal. I have also seen a full Comptech NA1 NSX that had all kind of goodies. The owner claimed it came that way from the dealer
I'd like to see the window sticker on those cars

I have came across a thread of some comptech supercharged installed from Honda in the past. I don't know if I would be able to dig it up, but remembered reading about some of our member's having a warrantied supercharged S2000 before.
Have to say that is awesome that you bought an S2000 that was equipped with those parts and sounds like in great condition with also some history behind it. It's like those few spooned NSX (aero parts and wheels mainly) that was made available at the acura dealership that I saw on youtube.
