Default Factory F&R spoilers?

Opinions on whether or not to add the factory spoilers to my '02? I haven't seen a car in person with them on, but I got a scale model with them, and I think they look pretty cool, especially the back one. Does it actually offer any downforce? How about the front, anything beneficial or just for looks? I can always remove the front one easily, but the rear seems like a permanent installation. Anyone regret getting either one?
Thanks!

The OEM front lip spoiler for the first gen S2000 is one of the best looks out there right now IMO. I also like the rear deck spoiler as well. I personally would stay away from the OEM side strakes though.

For the OEM rear spoiler, the trunk springs need to be changed (extra weight of the spoiler) and it supposedly takes a special tool at additional cost to accomplish that operation. I found the dealer option the most expeditious route.

I don't regret getting either one. They look better in person than in photos.

I don't know why Honda includes those heavy duty springs. They are not necessary. I've installed different aftermarket and OEM rear spoilers and not one of them needed the new springs. All the trunk needs to do is to "pop" unlocked when call upon and it always does. It's not like the springs will lift the trunk up or anything.

No, they don't lift it up. But they do hold it open and keep it from coming back down by itself after it's been lifted though. My guess is that with the extra weight from the deck spoiler the stock springs are borderline. I think they spec them with a pretty close tolerance so that they'll have enough strength to hold the lid up, but not too much so it's still easy to close. I'll say one thing, without the special spring tool they are a PITA to get on. Even with some big lever bars it's a bitch. Make sure you've got some eye protection on because when they come flying off if you don't quite get them hooked up they're downright dangerous .
