Default Factory Alarm

Need to put the car on a truck for long haul and they want to disable the alarm.

Does anyone know how? I lost my manual.

It's the factory alarm on a MY1999.

Yes, its easy to disable.

You buy the car and use the remote.

Maybe we have different alarms, but my alarm arms itself automatically when I shut the doors. Even if i press the button to unlock the car, it relocks and rearms itself automatically after 10 seconds.

It's actually really annoying when you're washing the car and the alarm keeps going off from water hitting the softop

I could unplug the battery, but then the guy at the other end wouldnt be able to get the car off the truck

If your alarm goes off when water hits the softop, then you don't have factory alarm that I know of.

Anyone here have a MY1999 - the year that apparently came with an alarm 100x more sensitive than the 2001's...

That's a MY2000 to most of us. They have a different system in the UK.
