F20C Makes Jalopnik's Engine of the Day
Source: Jalopnik.com
A 9,000-RPM inline-four engine that makes 247 naturally aspirated horsepower out of just two liters of displacement? That's what the Honda S2000's powerplant does!
These days, the North American and Japanese versions of the S2000 gets the F22C1 engine, a stroker version of the F20C that trades 1,000 RPM off the redline for 11 foot-pounds of torque. Those are the only two variations of this engine Honda has ever made; it's not to be confused with the Accord/Prelude F engine, with which it shares only the bore spacing.

i have a 2001 model. once you get the hang of it, you can putz around town in non-vtec mode, or put your foot in it and drive it like you stole it.
mine needs a couple of cherry bombs, though.

I like the response to it....
NO VEHICLE in the history of time has ever needed and/or benefited from the addition of cherry-bombs. Anyone with a modicum of knowledge about cars will present you with a facepalm when they hear you drive past with them.
