Well, if I had to choose one car most like an F1 car it would be the Stook. I was wondering, any others here big F1 fans, it seems like if you want to emulate F1 this would be the car to get.

Schumacher is THE man, and my man Irvine will have a better year at Jaguar next year. Hopefully Jenson Button will get a good ride cause he is the best talent to hit F1 in a long long time.

Probably the Ferrari F40 or F50 most replicate an F1 car for the road.

They have actual (detuned) Ferrari F1 engines in them. You can't get much closer than that

Keep in mind that the current F1 spec is probably the least-fun to drive F1 spec ever. The grooved tires and narrow chassis make them a real handfull. I don't think you'd want a road car to be anything like them.

If you watched the Goodwood hill climb on SpeedVision, you'll remember the Jordan head engineer trying to drive the Jordan F1 up the hill. He ran it into the wall in the first 1.5 seconds.

Big fan, right here. Went to Indy. Watch every race on TV. Is the S2K like an F1 car? No, but it's sure fun pretending. I'm sure you'd have to get a Ferrari F40 or McLaren F1 (the road car) to get anywhere close

Actually, doesnt the McLaren F1 actually out-accelerate the F1 car on the high end? I thought I read that somewhere, due to its close body (vs open wheel) and lack of speed depriving wings

the current F1 cars are probably less "fun", but also are likely more challenging. I can see why people going from CART to F1 dont do so well (recently, Alex Zanardi). I mean to go from a champ car with all the grip into an F1 car with less grip...

The F50 was a street version of the F333sp WSC, GrandAm, PSR, USRRC race car.

The McLaren F1 basis was the F1 chassis with a coupe body added to it, hence the center driver position. 230mph top end, 0-60 3.2 sec. And one their engineers crashed one accidently at 174mph and walked away from it.

You guys may also be aware that Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean) is one of a select number of McLaren F1 owners.

He apparently wiped his out by rearending some woman in a roundabout in the UK about 6 months ago. Turned out to be a very expensive exercise for what would be considered a minor bingle in any other vehicle.

I don't recall the exact damage bill but it was somewhere around $150K.

AyrtonSenna911, I hadn't heard about the hiring yet but I was glad they were shaking things up at Jaguar. However, remember BAR last year? They were just terrible even though they had a whole lotta money from honda, this year they did much better and things are looking up for next year. I hope its the same case with Jaguar, a whole lotta Ford money and a season under their belt should help. Watch out for Jordan next year too. They get real Honda engines not the less powerful Mugen-Honda variety.
