Even at 1-1.5 cars behind, you were still too close, unless you guys were driving at like 15 MPH.

Yeah I was following close, but the cop was exaggerating it. Half a car?!? BS!! And we were going like 30MPH.

Tinting and lowering is not illegal, but its very strict. My friend gets a holla from the cop probably weekly because of his ride. Tint, exhaust, no front plate.

Yeah, still a really weak reason to pull someone over. How much was the ticket?

I suspect that not having your license may have led to the second ticket for following too close.
I know it was an unintended overlook when you left the house but the Officer is going to look at it as at least a minimum dissregard for the law.
I think he was just a little perturbed with you to begin with when you told him you let your license at home.

wow!!! i got pulled over for doing ...what he said was 87 in a 35... i was actually doing like triple digits..... it was just to show off my friend that day.. i just had the car for like a month..... Then as i was turning around, i noticed traffic had been slowing down and my buddy was like OH crap FairFax cops!.. i was like Damn.. busted...

He stood in the middle of the road... stopped me... walked up to me. and asked.. "did you know you were doing 87 in a 35?" me being the smart ass that i am, i ALMOST said really? i was doing like 1XX.. but ofcourse i said yessir... he was like what were you doing??! Said i wasnt thinking and showing off to my friend... he was like you coulda hurt someone.. i said... your absolutely right sir and it was very selfish of me. i guess thats not what he expected... cuz he leaned in and said, "look, i know you gotta fast car and all.. but you REALLY need to slow it down".... i think it was because i showed him my military ID.

But cops dont bother me at all............sometimes they wave at me too??? Iono...

S2KSandy, the cop was right.
You could end up hurting someone or yourself doing triple digits on a 35.

Yup, and when your car gets vandalized or broken into, don't expect them to lift a finger...

And cops wonder why some people dislike them so.
When your car gets broken into, realistically, what are you going to do...

Nothing, exactly.

I got pulled over a couple of days ago for my exhaust. The cop asked me why I had a non stock muffler and I told him,"Truthfully,I love the sound of it and it helps me a little with my hp." He asks for license and registration then lets me go with a warning and no ticket. He was actually pretty cool and didn't have a major attitude like some popo do in my area. One thing I've learned if you're polite and truthful, they tend to be laid back and sometimes give you a break. Tickets in Virginia are very expensive;they're even more expensive if it's a moving violation since this commonwealth is using traffic offenses as a means to boost revenue.
