Thumbs up External tach

I am thinking about getting an external tach for my MY06 S. Do you guys think this is ok, or is it rice? I don't want to detract from the "clean look", but I am looking for something like this to help prevent me from bouncing off the rev limiter so much.

Trent Walker says: "You're so rice, and you don't even know it!"

IMHO, the rev limiter is there for a reason, so don't think it causes a great deal of harm hitting, with that said I try not to hit mine.

I personally think the external tach looks very Ricer and takes away from the car. looks good on a 60's camaro and similar cars, not S2k's.

Just my .02

With all the that CF you have an external dash would be a bad thing IMO

The primary reason I keep bouncing off the rev limiter is because I am more concerned with paying attention to the road ahead and not the dash. A secondary reason is because I am getting used to the lower redline--8K versus 8600 in my Civic.

This is a good habit, which is exactly why the beeper is much better than a shift light. You don't have to look anywhere, just listen. It was the first mod I put on my track car, and still the one I would least like to give up.

i found when first getting the s2k that the digital gauges for some reason didn't give me a realization of the rpm's. i know it doesn't seem to make sense but seeing a needle buried works better for me...one of the few things i don't like about the car. i haven't grown to like the digital gauges any more but i did get used to the tach.
i can't think of a good spot to put one...that wouldn't look completely out of place...probably why i don't have one now.
