I'd say no, BUT when i bought new i was talked into one. With about 400 miles left i got a cel for a cylinder 3 miss that required about 4k of head work. The extended warranty company paid for about 60% of this. I paid the rest. So the warranty about paid for itself, but odds are you'll never use it.

Honda's warranties are very inexpensive. Guess why? You don't use them very often.

Also, most of the major failures, due to bad manufacturing, will occur in the first years, if not months of ownership.

So extended warranties on Hondas are rarely a good investment.

I bought one, don't get it from the dealer. I got it from my credit union which was the same coverage, except about 600 dollars or more cheaper. BUT here's the big 'BUT'. think of it as peace of mind insurance, and nothing more. If you read the fine print, I think they may or may not deny your claims based on service. For instance, it will void the warranty if you dont get it serviced by a 'certified' professional blah blah.

As for me, I don't trust my dealer to do any oil or differential change, etc, so I do it all myself. Soo...I ask myself if push came to shove, 'will' they honor the coverage? Not sure. Basically if there's an excuse to not pay? Then I'm sure they have one.

So thankfully I won't have to fight anything but just keep that in mind. I wonder though if say the servos for my top get busted. It's supposed to cover that, but I don't know if they can weasel their way into not honoring it if I never got my car serviced etc. Though..the two have nothing to do with eachother. Anyways, just fyi.

I have never owned an exotic like the S2000, but do you think its worth it?
Any question of worth is highly subjective, regardless of the topic (if you can't tell by reading the responses above). No one can tell you if it's worth it to you or not and polling people won't tell you either.

I bought my CPO car with a warranty.

I had a diff replaced and my head serviced.

total was about $8000.

I paid $1500~ for my warranty. Money well spent. Mind you, my car is pretty unmodified (no engine mods or drivetrain mods)

The dealer will usually offer you warranties that cost much more. If you shop around, you can get a warranty on your car for much less, and you can start the warranty at any time. T'was what I did, anyway.
