Extended Warranty worth it?
#11
I got it on mine. I got a one year bumper to bumper warranty (ran out back in October) and then the 100k mile powertrain warranty through Honda CPO. I got employee pricing on mine since I have bought quite a few Hondas from the dealer here.
I thought/think it was/is worth it, especially not knowing how the previous owner took care of the car. I've had it for about 12000 miles and so far so good (only had to replace the strikers for the soft top under warranty) but am glad I can drive her as meant and not worry too much about an expensive repair bill if something on the powertrain craps out.

though you will get positive and negative feedback, i made sure my dealer wrote in pen that it was full B to B and should the top malfunction in any way, or rip due to weather, etc, it will be replaced for free.
i know it sounds dumb, but i have already used honda care or whatever its called 3 times.
twice for battery drain, and once cause i left my keys in the car
ive had the car for 3 months.

Not worth it...powertrain warranty is already covering your car...other issues that would happen at this point would have already happened (ie: electrical gremlins)...
I purchased an extended bumper to bumper when I bought my first Honda in 2002 and it was a big mistake...especially if you are financing that $1,300! Just money down the drain. That $1,300 buys a lot of gas and maintenance items.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I will be passing on the warranty.
I call the car exotic because it is unlike any other offering from Honda or typical for a car in this price range. I have been reading thorough this forum for some time now, and there are those who would argue that it is an exotic. Personally, I feel this is a rare drivers car that is a breath of fresh air in our world of corolla and civics.
I passed on the 370z and a Porsche Boxster, which were the other two contenders for my DD.
