Expertise needed!
I found my Suzuka Blue S2k and am picking it up on Saturday. It's about 150 miles away, which should make for a nice drive home! But I need your collective expertise!
I know that I shouldn't push her for the first "x" miles and, like most new cars, should drive at varying speeds. But beyond that I need help in forming some ideas.
Question #1 - over the past couple of weeks I've been contemplating where I drive and wondering if would want to drive the S2k in the same places. My daily commute takes me thru neighborhoods that, shall we say, are less than "comfortable". Does this often come up as a concern - and how many of you actually change your routing because of the car?
Question #2 - When parking the car in a parking lot, downtown area or suburban area, is it common to leave the top down (in good weather!) when leaving the car parked? I've always been anxious about not

Learning the answers to those questions is half the fun.
No ... I have never changed my route because of what the locals might think of the car ... hey ... its a Honda not a Ferrari.
Leave the top down while shopping ... going to lunch all the time, but not everywhere. One of the joys of the car is that it takes just a few seconds to put the top up or down. I sometimes do it several times a day.
Don't have the stock alarm ... know nothing about it.
Enjoy !

I'll be the first to chime in. I also have a Suzuka Blue - good choice in color.
My route to work didn't change. It's through parts of the larger Princeton NJ area, so nothing in general to worry about. However, I do go out in Trenton, and don't have a problem taking the car.
Depends on how long I'll be somewhere, and the weather. I leave the top down (and center console locked) if its a quick run to the store or mall. If I'm going to waste time and not have a go in-get this mentality, I'm more likely to put the top up.
It's got that special key thing. Shows you how much I'm worried, but then again, I don't live in West Hartford .

Question #1 I always look for the "Scenic" route, not for the same reasons as you, but for the fun of it. Once you have it, the long way is the best
Question #2 It depends.. If I plan to say eat lunch, it goes up. It it will be like less then 20min or so, I lock the Center console and dash. The top goes up in like 15 seconds, and down in 10 so that is very little time IMO.
Question #3 Nope, Alarms and lock stop only "Honest" folks. the Car come with an "Immobilize" system. The keys have a chip in them. Wrong chip, and the fuel pump gets no power. I don't have one, but my insurance is great. it is in the garage @ night when most of the theft happens so <Insert Prayer Here> I should be safe. (God I hope so)
This also references question#1, If you get an alarm with a proximity sensor, then leaving the top down is less of an issue.
