Exhaust and Throttle Body got me 15 HP...
I had the Proflow throttle body installed a few weeks ago and the B&B Triflow exhaust installed today. I went to have my car dyno'd today, at the same place it was dyno'd in May.
The May dyno showed:
Max Power = 271 hp
Max Torque = 167 ft
Today's dyno showed:
Max Power = 286 hp
Max Torque = 173 ft
I overlayed the charts:
Black/Gray lines are today, Red/Orange is May. Data at the bottom is only for today.
Notice the lighter gray line above that darker line, this was the max HP run.
The SC dyno'd lower than other SC S2000s in May, possibly because of Houston's incredible humidity. Today it was 17 degrees warmer than when I dyno'd in May, but evidently the SAE correction is supposed to correct that on the chart. After the May dyno it was suggested that my SC belt might be loose, resulting in a lower dyno. It turned out to be a bit loose, and I had it tightened the week after the first dyno - so that may also have helped to contribute to the gains seen today.
Pictures of dyno and exhaust:
Notice the big cans
Notice the guys plugging their ears.
I made notes as to what the gauges are displaying.
The exhaust is nice and loud, with a very deep sound. Interestingly, right before you hit Vtec the exhaust begins to fade and it's almost non-existent, sound-wise, during Vtec. It's very strange. Below Vtec it just rumbles all the time, very nice. I hope to record some sound tomorrow and post it.
As for feeling more power, no, I do not feel the 15 HP. I still believe that it's just about impossible to fee a 5% gain with your butt-dyno.
