Excessive Rust on Brake Rotors - Common for S2k? (BANDWIDTH WARNING: 5 pics/210 KB)
#21
I have had the same problem with my brakes. Over this year, I have only put about 4,000 miles on my S2000. I clean it all the time and keep it in a garage. After noticing a large amount of rust dripping onto my wheels and the annoying "pop" after releasing the parking break after washing, I took up the issue with my Honda dealer. They said that they had never seen this before with any other S2000's and most of them were daily driven and had about 20,000+ miles on them. I was officially told that "I do not drive the car enough" and this is the problem. After being in the same situation with many other sports cars, I have never heard of this before. My main concern is that now I have put HRE wheels and aftermarket body parts on the car and the first comment that comes out of people is "wow! look at how rusty your brakes are". I think that the only way to go is to replace them with aftermarket upgrades. Does anybody have a solution to this problem.
