Default evo to s2000?

I have a evo IX and have been thinking about trading it in for a s2000 maybe later this year. The evo is my "fun" car but i do use if for my commute to work sometimes (~45 min. to get to work). I don't race it or anything and never street race it. Has anyone made this move and do you regret it? I'm liking the fact that i would be able to cruise around top down, but i'm afaid that after i trade in the evo i'll regret it and not like the s2000 as much (if that even makes sense). Something like buyers remorse, but maybe traders remorse. Also, do you think the s2000 require less maintenance than the evo? any insight would be appreciated. i hope i put this in the right category in the forums, if not please move it where ever it needs to be. Thanks.

Unfortunately I can't comment on a trade from and Evo to an S2000. However I can tell you the maintenance on mine in the last year and 2 months hasn't been well anything. I have done fluid changes when I bought it and thereafter nothing but oil changes. I did some silly things like accidentally put a whole in my roof that I had to fix for about 50$ but that was my fault. Otherwise the car hasn't cost me anything. Tires are a bit expensive when I need those but otherwise nothing. I am sure some others can comment on the differences more so than I can. But I can tell you there isn't another car I can think of that I would give up my S2000 for

You'll miss the Evo if you like that nearly instant acceleration. I know I did. But IMO, the S2000 gives you more of an involved drive, especially at or near the limit, wherein the Evo (stock) nearly drives for you. Take the Evo to the track if you haven't already. That experience may delay your decision though.

If you can, keep the Evo, and get a used S2000 to switch it up. The only reason why I didn't was because my transfer case was making interesting noises and it was time for a clutch again.

Before getting an S2000, I drove both the Evo IX MR and S2000 intensively and the S2000 is hands down more fun to drive so I decided to go with the S2000. No regrets besides one, torque...

First of all, the Evo is a car you can drive year-round, rain or shine (or snow). Also, you can go get groceries, pack enough suitcases for more than a 3 day trip, carry more people, etc. Unless you live somewhere that you can be top down 95% of the time, I would say stick with the Evo. The only reason I don't have an Evo is insurance would be $520 a month instead of the $250 a month I pay for my S2000. The S is more fun to drive, but the Evo has more torque off the line, its faster in general, its way more practical in bad weather, the potential for more HP is there without spending $5,000, and its not a 2-seater. Hope this helps.

I've never driven an EVO, but I've driven an STi, other than the torque and acceleration the S2000 is more fun. Pretty big parity in the build quality as well....
