European MY2001 different from US
#1
Now that I have my stook in my garage for a week, it starts annoying me that I do not own the promised options that are common in the USA. The cold and wet weather here don't alter that.
I ordered a MY2001 S2000 in october after I heard of the standard options from this board (thank you!!!!). At least I now own one of the first MY2001 stooks that came to Europe. Together with the yellow stook that was shown at the Dutch AutoRAI (Ronald did post pictures, thanks!). Besides the Euro 1500 increased price the windscreen came standard from factory. My stook does NOT have a CD-radio but the old cassette-player, nor there were mats on the floor (I had to pay for the option). I was at the dealer when it did arrive. In the trunk I found only the tonneau cover and a bottle of paint.
I asked the dealer to order the CD-radio, but he said that was impossible: I had to order the CD-changer which I rejected. In my Dutch S2000 book there are 3 models of radios listed, I have "model B". The MY2001 was never introduced in Europe as far as I know. The German Honda site still lists the airco as an option while it is standard!
The only new option for free was the "HONDA" badge above the "S2000" badges. So now everyone can see this car is not a Ferrari...
Can someone post the partnumbers for "model C" Cd-radio ? Maybe I can order it as a sparepart (I will not invest in the overpriced CD-changer, then I will remove the Honda stuff and go aftermarker.)
Are there other members in Europe with similar experience?

Here's how to deal with emblem removal.
http://www.s2000fans.com/faqs/faq_emblem.php
As for a radio (or replacement side emblems) contact Hand-A-Accesories which is a sponsor and linked to this site. If he can't get em he can tell you what you need.
"Pinky" is the stereo Guru on the board so you might email him too. He is the moderator of the electronic thread.....you are currently on the car talk thread.
Hope this helps.
P.S. Did yours come with that cool little back up light under the rear bumper?

Hi Bluescreen,
it's always nice to have another Dutchman added to this forum. I sort of had the same thing with the dealer. I didn't mind the radio stuff. I wanted the changer anyhow and I'm happy with the stereo as is, changed the speakers though. I only thought that the new radio would include a clock as the only difference on the radio part. Quite strange since the radio is hidden. The other radios are in my manual, but I think they're only for the asian market? BTW I have a nice place for the changer: it's in the well in the trunk where the manual is supposed to be kept. It's now lying there not bolted, but it's a great place! Better option than in the sparewhell or just in the trunk.
I did get the mats for free, but had to pay for the windscreen (but that's standard for 2001 model, hence the higher price + higher TAXES since january).

Hallo Bluescreen
alpine have an adapter for the stock remote control... (110 sfr = ca 140 mark = 70 euro)
the radio CDA-7878R (june 01, 4x45 watt, price ?) is an mp3-cd player, 12 hours music from 1 cd..:-)! you need no cd-charger
