Ive already owned a del soul and hated it because it wasnt a true sports car. I'm no expert mechanic but I can figure stuff out pretty easily. That's why I was hoping someone else had already done this so I could follow their steps. I guess I'll have to make my own build thread once I get started so that others can do this swap easier.
I think I could speak for everyone by saying: if the s2k was no longer rwd, but fwd, it would no longer be a true sports car. Coming from a '98 ITR, it doesn't hold a candle to the s2k handling wise.

I'm not going to mess with the handling at all. I plan in leaving the suspension stock. All I want to do is the engine swap.

You wont be able to keep anything stock if you plan on converting it to a fwd, you will also throw the weight distribution off because you are putting all the weight towards the front of the car. If you really think about it you are turning the s2k into a del-sol more or less. You also mess with the handling because you are going fwd to rwd simple as that really. Exactly how and what are you going to use to convert it to a fwd?

...you are going to completely change the dynamics of the car, in every way. The handling will be totally "different" because of all of the weight being taken out of the rear/center(diff/axles/driveshaft/transmission), and being put up front with a different engine.

This is a horrible idea, and for a horrible reason. "To be better in the snow" doesn't mean it needs FWD. If you are a capable driver, and put snow tires on the car, it will drive in the snow just fine. But...converting a S2000 to FWD just because of snow?????? I really hope you're not completely blind to why this is an absurd statement..

I didn't hate it because it was fwd. I didn't like it because it was way too underpowered and it undeesteered horribly. I also didn't really like how it looked.

I think if you add all that weight to the front, you are gonna end up with the same results but better looks, and torque steer.

I don't think you understand the importance that a rear wheel drive layout has on the handling of the car. FWD is a compromise, plain and simple and this cannot be understated, it is night and day compared to RWD.

Imagine making a Corvette FWD? This is like an alternate universe you are speaking of.

You can't just say, "oh, I will still have the S2000, it will just be FWD.

No, you won't have an S2000, you will have a turd that will drive like crap and lose its 50/50 weight distribution, balance, will torque steer, I could literally go on and on and list 20 different reasons why FWD would be absolutely a horrible idea.
