I doubt it's lighter than the f20. An f20 is only 320lbs.

A stripped down 20B weighs just a tad under 300lbs. You're not going to save any weight. Go on a diet instead.

Why not just buy an FD and put your 20B in that? Its a lighter car to begin with and obviously much easier than fabricating all the crap that will have to be done to an AP1/2 if its even possible. THen again , I've never understood engine swaps on an S2000, it just feels like one of those cars where the marriage between the engine and chassis was a well thought out, unique, and deliberate one. An F20 powered Eilise is something that would make more sense to me, or the F20 powered Super 7's I've seen floating around on the internet.

The only engine I would want to swap into an S would be a C30A/C32B. An NSX powerplant in the S2k would be so nice.

Don't see the point in swapping out one of the most reliable performance motors for one of the least.
Weekly engine rebuilds FTW Just because it seems like a good idea doesn't mean it is.

Why start with a great handling $25,000 S2000 that weighs 2850lbs and already has a great motor when you could start with a great handling $1000 Miata that weighs 2050lbs and has a (relatively) weak motor?

I forgot what company it is but they make a kit to swap a rotary into a miata..I think the kit is meant for the motor from the FC series though, don't no much about anything other than FD 7's.

Anyway, in the long run it'd probably just be cheaper to buy a miata or just boost the hell out of your S. Personally I think it would be more of a bragging right than any real performance benefit. Not to mention the S already has a great weight balance as it is and putting a lighter/heavier motor would more than likely upset that

This is the only motor you should consider swapping into the S2k. Shed 100lbs in weight and gain 120 hp and about 90lb/ft of tq

i see no reason with swapping the f20 out of the s2k.

If i had a rd rx7 i would prob swap the f20 into it actually. Rotary is to unreliable for my liking.
